The Prison Litigation Reform Act of 1995
This law governs the process by which inmates can file lawsuits against prison officials for acts of abuse.

Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003
The Act requires the Bureau of Justice Statistics to analyze the occurrence and effects of prison rape and calls for the National Institute of Corrections to train Federal, State, and local prison authorities to prevent, investigate, and punish when prison rape occurs. It also authorizes monetary grants to help States eliminate prison rape.
